About the Judges

Rob Field

I’m a landscaper and outside works contractor and I also help my wife, Anna, with her business selling garden irrigation online. I’m the club leader at Hailsham Young Farmers Club where both my daughters are members.

I love the countryside and like to walk with Anna, we try and do our 10,000 steps most days. I like to design and build things in my workshop. Currently I’m building a jubilee beacon for Herstmonceux made from an up-cycled lamppost and old copper fire hood.

I put myself forward to judge the sustainable futures award because it interests me. It’s a new award and I’m hoping to learn from the traders who have entered.

Oscar Petfield

I am a bench joiner, and BA Designer Maker degree student at Brighton University Degree Centre, Hastings. My work and practice focuses on sustainable design and the use of recycled, reclaimed, found and foraged materials. The subject of sustainability has huge impact on me personally but also on my professional practice and my creative work.

I volunteered to judge the sustainable futures award because I am passionate about sustainability and my studies focus on the issues of waste and material by-products. I hope the traders who have entered can expand my knowledge of sustainable business practices.
