Vintage Tractors and Working Steam

South East Vintage Tractor Club (SEVAC) organise this area of the Showground

The Vintage Tractor and Working Steam section gave visitors an interesting perspective of the farm tractor and how it has developed over the decades. On display there was a wide variety of vintage tractors all designed and built to achieve the same thing - reduce the manual effort needed on every farm up and down the country, as well as increasing production and efficiency.

Alongside popular tractor models such as Massey Ferguson and Fordson, there was a couple of steam traction engines from the Claude Jessett Collection based at Tinkers Park in Hadlow Down.

This year we celebrated 60 years of the Massey Ferguson 100 series – unveiled to the public at the 1964 Smithfield Show in London. We were fortunate to display many models, including an example of the original 4 models.
