A new award which was introduced in 2022 to celebrate 75 years of the Heathfield Agricultural Show. The Award looks forward to another 75 years (and more) of sustainable agriculture.
The Sustainable Futures Award will celebrate organisations that demonstrate a high degree of commitment to environmental friendliness and sustainability as exhibitors at the Heathfield Agricultural Show 2023.
The Award will be given to the exhibitor whose stand and operations at the show contribute the most towards environmental friendliness and sustainability - by making their stand and materials reusable/recyclable, by using sustainable or recycled materials on their stand, by sharing ideas and resources with others, etc.
The prize will be awarded based on the overall environmental friendliness and sustainability of the exhibitor’s attendance at the Show. Find out more about our judges.
The winner will receive a sustainably sourced trophy and also an electronic award badge to display on their websites, email signatures, etc.

Entry criteria
Consider, wherever possible, the environmental impact of your exhibition stand. Recycled and recyclable materials are to be considered along with other factors that affect the carbon footprint of attending the show, including a consideration for energy efficiency.
Please describe in 250 words or less how you are demonstrating your commitment towards environmental friendliness and sustainability with regards to the following 5 aspects of exhibiting at the Show:
o Timber – Is it recycled or from renewable sources?
o Does your exhibition stand displays include single-use plastics?
o Will you be recycling / reusing the stand materials?
o Can you go paper-free on your exhibition stand? If not, how can you minimise your use of paper?
o How sustainable are the items you are selling / any freebies you are giving out?
o Plastic bags – eliminate use of these?
o Refreshments – can you eliminate plastic one-use products?
